International students who meet the following requirements can apply for a PGWP after graduation:
Have graduated from an eligible Designated Learning Institute as a full-time student
Have a valid study permit at the time of application
Were eligible to work off-campus without a work permit
Did not work off-campus more than 20 hours a week during study
You are able to obtain valuable work experience with a PGWP. Skilled work experience in the appropriate Occupational Classification (NOC) skill type (e.g. NOC 0) or skill level (NOC A or B) will help you qualify for permanent residence by applying through the Express Entry system.
Please be advised that you should apply for a PGWP before the expiry of your current study permit and within 180 days of obtaining a written confirmation of program completion.
